IMPROVE YOUR HORSEMANSHIP WITH ONE OF THE BEST TRAINERS IN THE COUNTRY

Is your horse hard to catch? Is fearful of the vet or farrier? Does he jig on the trail? Toss his head? Is he reactive, lazy? Or have general behavioral issues?

This Program will teach you the skills to solve these problems and teach your horse to be confident and think his way through any situation.

Having the expertise and savvy to solve problems, improve your ground and riding skills, teach your horse new things, and ultimately be safe and have fun with your horse.

When you learn the language of horses through this program, you unlock the gateway to the horse’s mind. When you have your horse’s mind, that’s when the harmony begins.

Miguel will give you the keys to solving problems and having the partnership you’ve always dreamed of.

The event will focus on:
Horse behavior and psychology and how to navigate your horse's responses without force, fear, and intimidation. Miguel will teach your horse to be more like a partner rather than a prey animal through understanding and psychology.

Miguel Logo Clear Background

With over 40 years of experience in horse management and training, Miguel has extensive experience in the various phases involved in preparing animals for riding and competition, from the initiation of young foals to the recovery of animals rescued from mistreatment or abandonment.

Over the years, he has improved his skills with courses in the most diverse areas of horse management.  In 2015, he became the first Latin American certified instructor of the Monty Roberts Method of Horsemanship.  Since then, he has taught courses in Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia and the United States.  In 2017, he became a certified Lead-Up instructor to teach workshops for Lead-up International, a program that aims to reduce violence and abuse suffered by young people.  He also developed, together with the Military Police of the Federal District, an animal non-violence program, with the Rational Training course.

In August 2020, Miguel was honored by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, who recognized his efforts to reduce violence in horse training and also in assisting war veterans and first responders, by dealing with post-traumatic stress by adopting the concepts of Monty Roberts. Miguel currently lives in California, United States, where he teaches courses at the Monty Roberts International Learning Center.  He also works with rescued horses, treating their traumas so they can be adopted, and with wild mustangs, also available for adoption, turning them into pleasure riding and trail horses.  He has specifically worked with a number of rescue horses at Believe Ranch and Rescue, taking several horses that were previously considered unrideable or untrainable and turning them into well trained, highly adoptable horses.

REBEKAH KEAT & SIRI LINDLEY

Co-Founders of Believe Ranch and Rescue
Co-Founders of Horses In Our Hands

SIRI LINDLEY AND REBEKAH KEAT

Former world champion athletes Rebekah Keat and Siri Lindley have become committed champions for horses, dedicating their lives to saving these magnificent animals from abuse, neglect, and the horrific horse slaughter pipeline. To date, they have rescued over 311 horses, giving them the second chance they deserve.

In 2016, they founded Believe Ranch and Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization, and quickly took action, attending auctions where innocent horses are targeted by kill buyers. These buyers purchase horses, only to send them to Canada and Mexico for slaughter for human consumption. Seeing the terrible conditions and the abuse these horses endured, Rebekah and Siri knew they had to do more.

In response, they founded Horses in Our Hands, a 501(c)(4) organization, to lobby for legislation that would ban horse slaughter once and for all. Their commitment to this cause has taken them to Washington, D.C., where they have held over 40 meetings with key legislators. They also launched a national educational campaign that reached 100 million people through social media, nationally broadcasted commercials, and an award winning mini-documentary that aired on NBC, CNN, and Fox TV Stations. Their rallying efforts resulted in the public sending over 275,000 letters to legislators and more than 1,900 letters to the editors of various publications across the United States.

Thanks in large part to their tireless advocacy, horse slaughter numbers have decreased from 60,000 in 2019 to 23,000 in 2023. Rebekah and Siri are now part of a national coalition of key animal welfare groups, working together to pass new legislation that will protect these beautiful creatures from slaughter.

Beyond their lobbying and rescue efforts, Siri and Rebekah also run Equine-Assisted events at Believe Ranch. The very horses they have saved and rehabilitated now serve as healers themselves, helping people suffering from mental health issues, chronic illness, cancer, PTSD in veterans, and more. Through their programs, over 300 individuals have experienced profound healing and life-changing breakthroughs, completing a beautiful circle of healing that cements the beautiful connection between humans and horses.
